Bell also received the Platinum Executive Club Award from Realty Executives of Cape County and the Pinnacle Level Award as Top 2 Agent from the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors, according to a news release.

Ken Oberlohr, an independent agent associated with First Missouri Insurance Group in Cape Girardeau, recently attended the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents' 25th Annual Small Agency Conference in Columbia, Missouri.
The association is the oldest and largest association of independent insurance agents in Missouri. More than 500 independent agents and company representatives attended the conference, which according to a news release targets small- to medium-sized agencies in Missouri and offers education programs focused on computer crime, risk management, sales, technology and workers' compensation.

Walter Hyde of Sikeston, Missouri, a maintenance planner at Associated Electric's New Madrid Power Plant, recently was named the 2014 Excel Employee of the Year in a Technical Field by the company at an annual recognition ceremony in Springfield, Missouri.
Recipients of the cooperative's awards are nominated by their peers and co-workers and selected from nominations by senior management, according to a news release.
Hyde joined the cooperative in 2009 as a journeyman electrician with experience in industrial, mechanical and electrical jobs before becoming a maintenance planner, which requires focus on planning for spring and fall maintenance outages at the power plant, according to the release.
