Cain joins Dalhousie Golf Club as executive chef

James Cain, who previously operated the restaurant Cain in downtown Cape Girardeau, is now working as executive chef at Dalhousie Golf Club. Cain attended the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Chicago, graduating in 2007 with an associates degree in culinary arts. He worked for five years as executive sous chef at Sunset Ridge Country Club before returning to Cape Girardeau and opening Cain. He is the son of Doc Cain, owner of Port Cape Girardeau restaurant, and grew up in the restaurant business.

Cape native writes book to help unemployed, job seekers

Former Cape Girardeau resident Donald Beussink recently completed a book to help the unemployed and active job searchers. Beussink is the president of BankersAdvertising.com, based in Iowa City, Iowa. The book is available at www.prairielights.com. Beussink grew up in Cape Girardeau and graduated from Notre Dame Regional High School. He attended and graduated from the St. Francis School of Radiologic Technology and Nuclear Medicine Technology. He was chief technical manager of the nuclear medicine department at Saint Francis Medical Center. He also completed a MBA at Lindenwood University in St. Louis. Beussink has spent more than 30 years in sales and marketing.

Belladona owners, employees attend Redken Symposium

Four representatives of Belladona Salon, Spa and Boutique recently attended The Redken Symposium in Las Vegas. Co-owners and makeup artists Linda Springs and Becky Davidson along with Rana Morgan, a certified Redken colorist and stylist, and Leslie Helle attended the symposium along with more than 1,200 people from 44 countries. The event included training of the latest techniques in hair color, design, finishing and business building strategies.

Local Mary Kay Cosmetics unit recognizes top sellers

The Jana Jateff unit of Mary Kay Cosmetics recently recognized its top producers for the quarter at a reception at Susie's restaurant in Sikeston, Mo. Jane Unterreiner, Amy Romack, Kay Waller and Jana Jateff, all of Cape Girardeau, were honored.

Modern Woodmen's Darby completes Kaplan course

Kelly Darby of Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, has completed the Kaplan Financial Needs Analysis Course. Darby started with Modern Woodmen in October 2010.
