Physical therapist joins HealthPoint staff
Vicki Litzelfelner Keller recently joined the staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital's HealthPoint Rehab. A graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Keller has been a practicing physical therapist in the Cape Girardeau and Jackson area for 29 years. She recently owned and operated Jackson Physical Therapy and Rehab in Jackson. She will practice at Southeast's HealthPoint Rehab at 410 W. Main St. in Jackson. Keller also has taught cycling classes at HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson for 10 years.
Bank appoints new division president
Douglas Hunt has been appointed president for the Bank of Missouri's commercial lending division. Hunt has more than 23 years of banking experience. He previously served as Shawnee District activities chairman and a member of the government relations committee for the Missouri Bankers Association.
Sausage makers win best of beef award
Tyson and Roger Wibbenmeyer of Stonie's Sausage Shop in Perryville, Mo., won the 2007 best of beef award from the Missouri Association of Meat Processors. The company won for its beef summer sausage. It is the third best of beef award won by Stonie's in the last four years. The family was awarded a free trip to Milwaukee for the 2007 American Association of Meat Processors national convention in July.
Local men attend Allied Insurance training
Chris Gross and Chris Bradshaw of Capital Insurance & Associates in Cape Girardeau attended the Allied Sales University Sales Builders Course on March 7 through 9 at the Allied Insurance corporate headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa. The training session was for personal lines and commercial lines producers, which focused on customer service, effective communications features and benefits.
Woman receives awards for work with railroads
Cindy Gross, wife of Scott City native and high school graduate Wayne Gross, has been honored with two awards this year. Gross received an award in April from Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer for her involvement in the development of technology that will provide more survivable space in rail passenger cars for occupants. Additionally, Gross received an award in March at the Federal Railroad Administration's annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., for her involvement in the development of federal standards regarding the inspection and maintenance for continuous welded rail join bars on railroad tracks.
Hearing instrument specialist honored
At the recent Missouri Hearing Society educational conference in St. Louis, Joyce Hill Cooley, a hearing instrument specialist with Miracle-Ear Center in Cape Girardeau, received the platinum award for outstanding educational achievement in 2007. The Missouri Hearing Society recognizes those individuals who go beyond the basic continuing education requirements to provide superior service to their clients. Cooley completed 36 hours of continuing education to receive the award.
Nursing unit manager chosen for award
Jean Sherrill, nursing unit manager at the Missouri Veterans Home recently was chosen by her co-workers for the quarterly leadership award.
