Darlene Harris of Johnson County, Ill., has been named vice president and mortgage lending manager at Capaha Bank in Jackson. She has worked in the mortgage lending business for 25 years serving customers in Southern Illinois, western Kentucky and Southeast Missouri. During that time she's worked in a number of positions, from processing to serving as area manager of several offices.
Susan Stroder of Jackson was recently nominated for the MU Nursing Alumni Organization's Master's Student Award for Overall Excellence from the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing. The award recognizes potential for clinical proficiency, academic excellence and professional commitment. She has worked as a registered nurse for more than 32 years. Stroder works in the obstetrical unit at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She has continued her nursing education by earning various certifications and her bachelor of science in nursing from the MU Sinclair School of Nursing in 2006. She will graduate in May with a master's degree in nursing education.
Tom Kelsey, broker and president of Lorimont Place Ltd., recently was awarded the top sales award from the Cape Girardeau County Board of Realtors for commercial sales and leases for 2009. The local organization annually recognizes members for their sales achievements. Kelsey qualified for the Pinnacle award, the highest level of sales for members selling $5 million and more during a calendar year. He has been a Pinnacle top-producer award recipient for the last 14 years in commercial real estate sales and leasing. A licensed real estate broker since 1974, he exclusively handles commercial, industrial and development property sales and leasing in the Southeast Missouri region. In addition to being a member of the local Realtor board, he also a longtime member of the state and national Realtor organization. He is also affiliated with the Realtor's Commercial Alliance.
Scott County Associate Circuit Judge Scott Horman was elected to the board of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges at the group's annual meeting April 7 through 9 at Lake Ozark. Rep. Scott Lipke, R-Jackson, was among three legislative representatives recognized by the organization during the meeting for their work in the Missouri General Assembly to improve the administration of justice.
George "Skip" Wrape was elected chairman of the board of directors of the International Serum Industry Association at the organization's annual meeting in Munich, Germany. The ISIA group works in the promotion and movement of sera used in cell culture, veterinarian biologics and in the diagnostic industry. Wrape is a principle at River City Biologicals in Cape Girardeau.
