Saint Francis Medical Center surgeon credentialed

General surgeon Dr. John Moll has been credentialed by M.D. Anderson Physicians Network through Saint Francis Medical Center to provide access to evidence-based treatment protocols and processes. Moll joins 20 other physicians already credentialed at Saint Francis Medical Center. The credentialing process involves the standard review of physician licensure, board certification and medical malpractice history, as well as an on-site review of the physician's documentation practices and the facility environment.

Southeast student attends conference in Jefferson City

Lucas Presson recently attended the Center for Health Transformation workshop titled "Creating a 21st Century Intelligent Health System in Missouri." The workshop was held in Jefferson City, Mo., and included legislators, health providers and physicians. Presson is an MBA student with a health administration emphasis at Southeast Missouri State University.

Office manager earns medical practice executive certification

Pat Francis, office manager for Southeast Missouri Hospital's Plaza Primary Care, Pulmonary Clinic, Endocrinology Associates and the Campus Health Clinic at Southeast Missouri State University, has completed requirements for the Certified Medical Practice Executive designation in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Francis holds a bachelor's degree of business administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and a Master's of Business Administration from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. She has more than 20 years of combined retail and medical office management experience. Francis is president of the Southeast Missouri Chapter of the Medical Group Management Association. Francis lives in Cape Girardeau with her husband, Bob.

Aranha joins oncology staff at Saint Francis Medical Center

Medical oncologist and hematologist Olivia Aranha has joined the team of cancer specialists at Cape Medical Oncology of Saint Francis Medical Center. The first female medical oncologist/hematologist on staff, Aranha focuses much of her efforts on the treatment of breast cancer. She also has special interest in gastrointestinal cancers. Aranha earned her medical degree from the University of Bombay in India and has advanced training in cancer treatment. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Northwestern University in Chicago, and a fellowship in chemotherapeutics and chemoprevention at Wayne State University.

Caldwell named to financial hall of fame

Country Financial has named Tim Caldwell of Tamms, Ill., to its hall of fame. Established in 1990, the hall of fame honors financial representatives who have qualified for 20 or more All Americans and agency managers with 10 years of qualification as a manager and 20 total qualifications.

Rose Bed Inn chef featured in magazine

Rose Bed Inn chef James Coley is featured in this month's Missouri Life magazine. In the feature article, "The Hills Are Alive: The Flavor of Southeast Missouri Makes the Region Sing" by Callina Wood, Coley was approached to provide a demonstration using regional fare at Rose Bed Inn Bed and Breakfast & Hospitality Center of Cape Girardeau.
