Haley receives award for corporate finance studies

Lucas Haley received the 2010 Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction Excellence for the Future award in corporate finance. This award recognizes the highest academic scores and achievements in corporate finance coursework at the University of Missouri School of Law. The award will be presented April 6 at the Edna Nelson Awards Banquet at the University Of Missouri Reynolds Alumni Center. Haley, a 2004 graduate of Dexter High School in Dexter, Mo., attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated in 2007. He attended law school at the University of Missouri School of Law and finished his degree in May. He is currently employed as an investment adviser and trust representative with the Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

Roberts opens hearing aid business at Town Plaza

Darel Roberts has opened AudioEar Hearing Center at 65 Plaza Way in Town Plaza in Cape Girardeau. Roberts has been in the hearing aid business since 1985. He started his career with Miracle Ear in sales. He founded AudioEar in 1987 to make hearing aids and ear molds. AudioEar ceased manufacturing in 1992, but continued to offer sales and service. Roberts is a licensed hearing aid dispenser.

Ear, nose and throat doctor partners with Southeast

Dr. Janice L. Seabaugh has partnered with the Southeast Medical Group. Her practice, now under the new name of Southeast Ear, Nose and Throat, will remain at its existing location, 274 S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau. Seabaugh has been an active member of the medical staff at Southeast Hospital for 16 years, serving as chief of surgery at Southeast Hospital for the past five years. She is a member of the medical staff executive committee and served for several years on the board of trustees. Seabaugh has operated a solo practice for 26 years.

Puckett joins State Farm Insurance firm as intern

Billy Puckett of Cape Girardeau has joined Michael C. Jones State Farm Insurance in Cape Girardeau. He will work under Jones as an intern to gain experience before opening his own State Farm agency. Puckett is responsible for sales, services, claim handling and customer relations. He grew up in Sikeston, Mo., and attended college in Illinois on a baseball scholarship. Last year Puckett was inducted into the Sikeston Hall of Fame for his successful high school baseball career.

McMillian honored by Honda for 2010 sales

Cape Girardeau Honda sales consultant Bud McMillan was recognized by American Honda Motor Co., Inc., for achieving the Gold Master membership level in the 2010 Council of Sales Leadership recognition program. The program is an annual recognition program designed to encourage professional development and sales excellence throughout Honda dealerships nationwide.

Rueseler qualifies for Chairman's Club

MassMutual agent Rob Rueseler, an agent of Mass Financial Group, Inc., has been named as a Chairman's Club qualifier for 2010. Rueseler has served the Cape Girardeau market for 22 years offering financial services. Chairman's Club recipients are the top 10 annual producers of more than 5,000 agents.

Group attends young farmers conference

The following people from Cape Girardeau County attended the Missouri Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Leadership Conference in February at Lake of the Ozarks Tan-Tar-A Resort: Greg and Laura Criddle, Mark, Lisa and Lydia Reitzel, Kely Jahn, Jeremie and Laura Nothdurft, Marcus and Kelli Birk, and Ben and Shelly Meier.

Dale Steffens and Kenny Spooler were among Missouri Farm Bureau members from across the state who attended the organization's annual Commodity Conference and Legislative Briefing Feb. 28 through March 1 in Jefferson City, Mo. Priority issues for the Farm Bureau this legislative session include naissance lawsuit reform, amending Proposition B and supporting legislation to make the Missouri Department of Conservation financially responsible for damaged caused by elk.
