The Community Counseling Center has announced that Bill Hinckley has been selected to serve on the center's foundation board of directors effective Jan. 1. Hinckley is a retired chemical engineer with 44 years of experience in supervision and management of chemical plant operations, and was plant manager of the BioKyowa facility in Cape Girardeau 11 years before retiring in 2008. Hinckley is active in Salvation Army and is currently serving on the Cape Girardeau Salvation Army Advisory Board. He has served on the Cape Girardeau Planning and Zoning Commission since 2004. Hinckley and his wife Denyse have resided in Cape since 1995 and have two children and three grandchildren.
Chris Hutson of Cape Girardeau has joined Northwestern Mutual as a wealth-management adviser. A native of Jackson, Hutson received a bachelor of science in business administration in finance from Southeast Missouri State University and his master's in business administration in 2010 from William Woods University. Hutson comes to Northwestern Mutual Financial Network from Edward Jones.
The University of Missouri Extension in Cape Girardeau County has designated Lesley Meier as the 4-H youth specialist. She started in the position Nov. 11 and her duties include providing educational leadership to the 4-H program in Cape Girardeau, Perry and Scott counties. Meier is originally from Hannibal, Mo., and grew up on her family's diversified livestock and grain farm. She was an active 4-H member in Marion County. She attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and received a bachelor of science degree in agricultural education with minors in agricultural economics and plant science. Her master of science degree is in agricultural education from Oklahoma State University. Meier worked in the Oklahoma State 4-H office and developed curriculum for the Oklahoma 4-H geospatial program. Her husband Greg is a native of Jackson and they have one son, Tyler.
