Anderson-Noto becomes chair of advisory council

Quantella Anderson-Noto has been named to chair the advisory council of the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. She will assume her duties Jan. 1. Anderson-Noto is director of the hospitality management program at Southeast Missouri State University. Besides providing full-time instruction, her responsibilities include providing leadership with curriculum development, advising and mentoring students, and maintaining a liaison with the hospitality industry. Anderson-Noto previously served as an instructor at Strafford College, Falls Church, Va., in the Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management department. She has held several positions in the lodging and food service industry prior to her teaching, including group sales and corporate sales manager of business and international travel, convention services manager and assistant front-desk manager. She graduated cum laude from East Stroudsburg University, East Stroudsburg, Pa., with a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism Management and she received her Master of Tourism Administration from the George Washington University School of Business and Public Administration. She is a doctoral candidate in educational leadership and policy analysis at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Davis joins Clayton, Mo., law firm as associate attorney

Conn Q. Davis joined the law firm of Jenkins & Kling, P.C. in Clayton, Mo., as an associate attorney. Davis has experience in state and federal court in both Missouri and Illinois. He will specialize in commercial and business litigation, including complex construction, leasing and banking litigation. Originally from Southeast Missouri, Davis received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 2010. While at DePaul, he served as a legal intern for William J. Bauer of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and was a member of the DePaul Business and Commercial Law Journal.

Cabot named interim director for CIE

Sandra Cabot was recently named interim director of the Small Business and Technology Center for The Douglas C. Greene Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Southeast Missouri State University. She continues to serve as assistant director for outreach for the CIE. Before this, Cabot served two years as a program coordinator in the CIE and is certified as an Operation JumpStart: First Step and a FastTrac New Venture facilitator. From 2008 to 2009, she served as a contract instructor for the Center's Operation JumpStart classes. An experienced entrepreneur, she operated a professional consulting business for 10 years, working with many small businesses and community leaders in Southeast Missouri and elsewhere.

Cuba certified as federal benefits advisor

Tyler Cuba of the Cuba Financial Group and First Allied Securities Inc. recently completed training and educational requirements to become a Certified Federal Benefits Advisor. Tyler is now certified to educate federal employees on their benefit programs through USA Federal Benefit Advisors, a nationally recognized federal benefit educator.
