Bank of Missouri officer completes certification

Mary Dannenmueller, Bank Secrecy Act officer of The Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau recently completed the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Institute, a professional certification program sponsored by the Independent Community Bankers of America. Dannenmueller completed the requirements of the comprehensive program and passed two certification examinations.

Southeast Missouri Hospital announced that three of its employees have received awards from the Heartland Advanced Practices Nurses Network. The awards were presented at the group's Ninth Annual Primary Care Conference at Southeast Missouri State University. Karen Crites Hendrickson, Southeast Missouri Hospital's vice president and chief nursing officer was named 2007 "Advocate of the Year" for her efforts in support of advanced practice nursing. Linda Brown, family nurse practitioner and director of emergency services, and Angela Selzer, family nurse practitioner in ERexpress, were named "Legislative Advocates of the Year" for their efforts to promote advanced practice nursing legislation.

HealthPoint fitness selects new director

HealthPoint Fitness has a new director of operations for the Cape Girardeau and Jackson facilities. Jack Hembree, MS, will replace Bill Logan, who is retiring next month. A native of Louisiana, Hembree has a bachelor of science degree in health and physical education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., and a master's degree in exercise physiology from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. Hembree is moving to HealthPoint, which is operated by Southeast Missouri Hospital, from a medical fitness facility in Nashville, Tenn.

Southeast graduate wins design award

Sarah Moran, a 1980 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, received the American Society of Interior Design's Design Excellence Award, South Florida Chapter, for Kitchen Design. Moran has extensive family ties to Southeast Missouri, with parents Anson and Janet Knoderer living in Painton, Mo., in Stoddard County, and siblings in Cape Girardeau and Painton. She is married to Michael Moran, who is also a 1980 graduate of the university.
