Big River Telephone has promoted Nathan Littlepage to director of network engineering. Littlepage has been with the company for more than 13 years, starting as a manager of network operations. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas-Austin and was a communications specialist for the U.S. Army. "In this new role, Nathan will continue building on his considerable background in voice and data communications. He will take on planning and engineering responsibilities as we continue the expansion of our national network" said Kevin Keaveny, chief technical officer for Big River.
Cape Girardeau lawyer William S. Rader was honored as a senior counselor of The Missouri Bar. The title is bestowed upon lawyers who have reached the age of 75 years or who have been admitted to The Missouri Bar for 50 years. The recognition ceremonies took place during a luncheon Sept. 30 at The Missouri Bar annual meeting, at the Holiday Inn Select Executive Center in Columbia. A total of 120 members of The Missouri Bar were presented with the designation at the luncheon.
Liz Lockhart, an agent with Century 21 Key Realty, and Dolores Baker of Century 21 Ashland Realty recently attended the annual Century 21 Real Estate Top Agent Retreat. Sales associates with 2009 sales production in excess of $110,000 in adjusted gross commissions or 30 closed units were eligible to attend the event, held at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Pat Francis, office manager at Southeast Missouri Hospital's Plaza Primary Care, Plaza Primary Care West, Plaza Internal Medicine and the Campus Health Clinic at Southeast Missouri State University, has become a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. Fellowship in the ACMPE is the highest distinction in the medical group practice management profession, and demonstrates Francis' expertise in medical practice management. Of the nation's 21,000 Medical Group Management Association members, only 500 are fellows. Francis is one of only two Cape Girardeau practice administrators to hold this distinction, and one of only 38 in Missouri. Francis holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and a master's of business administration from William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. She has more than 20 years of combined retail and medical office management experience. Francis currently is president of the Southeast Missouri chapter of the Medical Group Management Association. She is also a state and national MGMA member. Francis resides in Cape Girardeau with her husband, Bob Francis.
Ken Volkerding of Jackson was named Financial Representative of the Month in the Missouri East Region for August and September. Volkerding joined Modern Woodmen in October 2004. Shane Williams of Cape Girardeau was named Rookie of the Month in the Missouri East Region for September. This recognition is given to a representative that has been with Modern Woodmen for less than three years and is leading the region in production. Williams joined Modern Woodmen full time in August.
Laura Faye Thomas qualified for the 2010 Senior Marketing Specialists Advisory Council in August. The council is made up of individuals who market senior insurance products Missouri. Qualifiers for the council are known for their exceptional client services and are among the top producers in the state. Thomas has been in the insurance business since 1987 and specializes in Medicare related plans, prescription drug plans, final expense plans, short and long-term care, cancer and dental plans.
