Publisher Reppert now president of NNA
Jerry L. Reppert, head of Reppert Publications, has been installed as president of the National Newspaper Association. Established in 1885, the National Newspaper Association is the national voice of community newspapers. NNA represents owners, publishers and editors of America's community newspapers. With 3,200 newspaper members, it is the largest newspaper association in the United States. Before election as president, Reppert served the past year as NNA's vice president. Reppert also served as president of the Southern Illinois Editorial Association and Illinois Press Association.
Southeast Missouri Hospital vice president and chief nursing officer Karen Hendrickson has announced the appointment of Myrna R. Ward as a new patient care director. Ward received a bachelor's degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. She is currently working on a master's degree in nursing through the University of Phoenix. For the past 16 years, Ward has been in St. Louis, where she first worked as a charge nurse/staff nurse at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, later becoming assistant nurse manager. Her most recent experience at Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been as clinical nurse manager.
Taylor Dial, an American Family Insurance agent in Cape Girardeau, has been recognized for customer satisfaction excellence under the J.D. Power and Associates Distinguished Insurance Agency Program. Dial has been an agent for American Family since April 1997.
Penzel Construction Co. has received the 2005 Merit Award for best renovation or addition at the National Association of Church Design Builders-Certified Church Consultant meeting, in Arlington, Texas. The award was presented to Dewayne Mabry on behalf of Penzel for the First Presbyterian Church of Cape Girardeau. Penzel's renovation of the historic church facility was completed in October 2004.
Lindsey Meyr has been named the new marketing director of Westfield West Park. Meyr is a lifelong Cape Girardeau resident and graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. Before joining Westfield, Meyr was an intern with Hughes Group in Clayton, Mo. At Southeast, she was a scholarship track and field athlete all four years while serving as a media intern in the Sports Information department.
