Perry County economic development director leaves

Larry W. Tucker, executive director of the Perry County Economic Development Authority since 2003, has accepted a position as marketing and business development manager with the city of Wentzville, Mo. Before coming to Perryville, Tucker worked as executive director of the Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority in Rock Springs, Ga., and as an economic development representative for the Southeast Industrial Development Association in Chattanooga, Tenn. Tucker is a certified economic developer by the International Economic Development Council and is also certified as an economic development finance professional by the National Development Council.

Glenn finishes U.S. Chamber management program

Tracey Glenn, vice president for organization and leadership development at the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce, has completed the Institute for Organization Management program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The program consists of four annual sessions focusing on professional growth and development for association, chamber and other not-for-profit professionals. Graduates have completed 96 hours of course instruction in not-for-profit management. Nearly 1,000 individuals attend the institute annually.

William J. "Bill" Pfingsten has been appointed vice president of physician services at SoutheastHEALTH effective Feb. 17. Pfingsten comes to Cape Girardeau from Bozeman, Mont., where he served as vice president of the Bozeman Deaconess Health Group, a 15-clinic, 53-physician group associated with Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. His work at Bozeman Deaconess Health Group included development of a physician practice governance structure, acquisition of several practices, development of a hospitalist program, accreditation of the hospital's Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons, and implementation of a new practice management and electronic medical record system.

Scott named director of human resources at SoutheastHEALTH

Lincoln C. Scott has been appointed director of human resources and total rewards at SoutheastHEALTH. A focus for Scott this year will be implementation of the total rewards, which involve compensation and benefits, according to Wayne Smith, SoutheastHEALTH vice president of Human Resources and Development. Scott has more than 30 years of human resources experience, including 10 years with Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis as vice president of human resources and organization development. He also served as director of human resources administration at the Earthgrains Company and manager of compensation at Anheuser-Busch Companies, both in St. Louis. Most recently Scott served as assistant to the president at Southeast Missouri State University. Debbie Bowers will continue her duties as director of human resources, administrative services.

Physicians earn family medicine certification

Southeast Primary Care physicians Dr. Cheree Wheeler-Duke, Dr. S. Danette Miller and Dr. Tim T. Duke, have earned board certification from the American Board of Family Practice Medicine. The three physicians are on the staff at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Wheeler-Duke received her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas, Nevis, West Indies, and completed an internship and residency at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. Miller received her medical degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and completed a family medicine residency through the An Med Family Medicine Residency Program in Anderson, S.C. Duke received his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies. He completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He also serves as an adjunct professor for Walden University.
