Galati receives certification from cancer center

Vincenzo Galati

Vincenzo Galati, urologist at Saint Francis Medical Center, received certification in the MD Anderson Cancer Center Network. The Anderson Cancer Center is one of the most respected cancer prevention, treatment, detection and follow-up care networks. This certification will allow Galati to use the Anderson Center's resources in treating local cancer patients.

Thomas named laboratory director at SoutheastHEALTH

Lauren Thomas

Lauren Thomas has been named laboratory director for SoutheastHEALTH. Thomas's responsibilities will include overseeing the lab's projects, standardizing results and more. Thomas is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in medical technology and minors in biology and chemistry. Thomas earned her master's degree in health-care management from Kaplan University. Thomas began working with SoutheastHEALTH in 2000.

Lusk named CFO at counseling center

Lonnie R. Lusk has been appointed chief financial officer of the Community Counseling Center in Cape Girardeau. Lusk is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years experience. Timothy J. Schwent recently retired as director of finance and administration after 10 years with the center. Larry Essner, director of development, recently retired after 12 years with the center. Essner still assists with fundraising.
