New volunteer coordinator for Red Cross's local chapter

Ann Douglass-Click has joined the Red Cross of Southeast Missouri as volunteer services coordinator. She will be working with volunteers in Perry, Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Scott, Stoddard, Mississippi, New Madrid, Dunklin, Butler, Wayne and Pemiscot counties. Douglass-Click grew up in Los Angeles. As a teen, her family relocated to Missouri, her father's home state. Douglass-Click graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies. She is also involved in other volunteer work with inner-city outreach missions and the Special Olympics.

New pediatrician joins Cape Physician Associates practice

Saint Francis Medical Center welcomes pediatrician Shylaja Nuguri to its staff. She joins 12 other physicians at the primary care practice of Cape Physician Associates. Naguri brings to the region a broad experience diagnosing and treating childhood health issues and disorders. She has cared for hospitalized children in addition to treating children in urgent care and clinic settings. Nuguri earned her medical degree at Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India, as well as a diploma in obstetrics and gynecology at the Government Maternity Hospital in Warangal. After moving to the United States, Nuguri completed a residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She has special clinical interest in infectious diseases, child nutrition and childhood obesity.
