Nurse practitioner passes certification examSoutheast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence in Cape Girardeau has been notified that Kathy Blevins has passed sexual assault nurse examiner certification by the International Association of Forensic Nurses. Blevins currently works for the network as an advanced practice women's health-care nurse practitioner, collecting forensic evidence to be used in criminal and civil cases. The certification demonstrates a professional commitment to quality of care.

Union Planters worker receives USDA certificateUSDA Rural Development recently presented Cindy Webb of Union Planters Bank with a certificate of appreciation. Webb is a mortgage originator, and she was recognized for originating $500,000 in the Rural Development Single Family Housing Guaranteed Loan Program, which helps moderate-income families finance home purchases.

Local banker elected head of state association

President and CEO Troy Wilson of Montgomery Bank in Sikeston was recently elected chairman of the Missouri Bankers Association. He was congratulated by former first lady Barbara Bush, who was the keynote speaker at the association's convention in Branson, Mo.

Notre Dame student goes to state business week
