Vice president takes part in banking session

Geoff Parker, vice president of First Missouri State Bank in Jackson, was among the 641 bankers taking part in the 57th annual two-week session of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Classes were from May 21 to June 2, with courses covering all aspects of banking, economics and related subjects.

Doctor attends two professional conferences

Dr. Elizabeth J. Horton of Cape Girardeau recently attended two professional conferences in St. Louis. The first, Epilepsy Treatment 2006, was held at St. Luke's Hospital. The conference brought together nationally recognized authorities and provided a forum for communicating the newest advances in the treatment and care of individuals with seizure disorders. The second conference, Pediatric Neurotherapeutics, was held at Washington University Medical Center and focused on treatment options for pediatric neurological disorders including epilepsy, autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, childhood migraine, cerebral palsy and Tourette's syndrome. Horton specializes in neurological diseases in children.

State pharmacy group elects local treasurer

Sandra Bollinger of Benton, Mo., owner of Health Priorities Inc., has been elected treasurer of the Missouri Pharmacy Association for 2006-2007. Health Priorities Inc. is a preventative health and disease management pharmacy in Sikeston. Based in Jefferson City, the association is a professional organization for pharmacists and serves as an advocate for quality pharmacy care for all Missourians.
