Karen Wade has been named the new local sales manager for KFVS12, KFVS12. com, and UPN The Beat. The announcement came from Mike Smythe, general manager for the television stations. Wade replaces David Stockard. who left the stations earlier this year. Wade has been with KFVS12 since 1993, originally in station marketing and most recently as an account executive in the station's sales department. In sales, she received the Hollis Award for salesperson of the year twice.
Cell technician John Robertson has been named Dana Corp.'s April employee of the month. Robertson has worked at the Cape Girardeau facility since 1997. Dana Corp., a Toledo, Ohio-based company, operates a facility in Cape Girardeau that manufactures automotive axle components for both the light truck and SUV markets.
Dr. Zenon Duda recently attended the Global Conference on the Diabetic Foot in Los Angeles. International experts on diabetes and physicians interested in treating and preventing diabetic foot complications attended. Duda is member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. His office, Cape Foot Clinic, is at 1345 Mount Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau and has a satellite office at Perry County Hospital in Perryville, Mo.
David Brown of Perryville, Mo., has been named the new assistant manager of Buchheit Agriculture Division. Brown, an Oklahoma native, is a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State University and has more than 15 years' experience in the grain elevator, fertilizer, chemical sales and crop consultant specialist field. Brown has held a variety of positions, including his most recent as the crop production manager at Mid-Oklahoma Co-op, the second largest Co-op in Oklahoma.
Phil Ivers of Cape Girardeau has been appointed executive vice president and general manager at Blair Packaging Inc., a Scott City manufacturer of vinyl packaging products. He joins company owners Ronn Unterreiner, Herb Graetz and Bob Moser on the firm's executive management team. Ivers previously served in management with Sikeston-based Montgomery Bank, working in several roles, including community bank president for the Cape Girardeau-Jackson marketplace from 1996 to 1998 and chief banking officer and chief operating officer in 2003. Ivers was also co-founder of Pathfinder Financial Advisors, a Cape Girardeau-based financial planning firm.
Roger Arnzen, director of mapping for Cape Girardeau County, participated in a program designed to make Missouri employers more familiar with the military. The trip took place in March. The group left from the Missouri National Guard facility in St. Louis to Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado aboard a U.S. Air Force KC-135 tanker aircraft. During the visit, Arnzen toured the U.S. Air Force Academy. Several cadets joined employers for lunch to answer questions about the institution and traditions.
Jan McClanahan has been awarded the certified residential specialists designation by the Council of Residential Specialists, the largest not-for-profit affiliate of the National Association of Realtors. Those who have received the designation have completed advanced courses and have demonstrated professional expertise in the field of residential real estate. Only 5,000 Realtors nationwide have earned the credential. McClanahan is a broker/associate with McClanahan Real Estate LLC in Cape Girardeau. She also is a member of the Cape Girardeau Board of Realtors.
