Insurance rep receives agent of the year award

Local American Family Insurance agent Kelly Waller has received the 2005 Agent of the Year award for the Midland East Region, District 160. The award is voted on among fellow agents and is based on overall performance. In 2005, Waller was the leader in All Lines production, life insurance policies and commercial farm/ranch policies. His 2005 farm/ranch numbers placed him second in the nation for farm/ranch sales for the second consecutive year. Waller was also among the leading agents for health insurance and agency retention. Waller, a Jackson native and alumnus of Southeast Missouri State University, also received the 2005 J.D. Power and Associates Award for outstanding customer service.To receive this distinction the agent must be nominated by his current clients as well as pass an on-site inspection by J.D. Power.

Two attend conference on company marketing plan

Denise Kirk and Glenda Schroeter of AtHome America Inc. in Jackson, attended the company's Independence Conference in January in the Chicago area. Top leaders were presented the company's sales and marketing plan for 2006 and received training on creating a strategic marketing plan for the future.
