Dana Corp. names employee of the month

Jim Below, a cell technician from Advance, Mo., has been named Dana Corp.'s February employee of the month. Below has worked at Dana's Cape Girardeau facility since March 21, 1994. Below, a Cape Girardeau native, and his brother operate a vending business on the side. Dana Corp., a Toledo, Ohio-based company, operates a facility in Cape which manufactures automotive axle components for both the light truck and SUV markets.

Waterproofing, repair company adds to staff

Tyson Baer of Cape Girardeau recently joined the staff of Helitech Waterproofing and Structural Repair. Baer is employed as a project estimator, covering Southeast Missouri. Helitech is a waterproofing and structural repair company that works on residential households. Recently, Helitech was recognized by AB Chance as the largest foundation repair company in 13 states.

SEMO names assistant for equity, diversity issues

Roderick "Rick" Beasley of Columbia, Mo., director of the Missouri Division of Workforce Development, has been named assistant to the president for equity issues and diversity at Southeast Missouri State University. The announcement was made following a closed session meeting of the university's board of regents last week. Beasley, who was selected after a national search, will begin his new duties March 1. He replaces Dr. Pauline Fox, who has been serving as interim assistant to the president for equity issues. Fox took the assignment when Dr. Mel Gillespie died in July.

Travel center worker celebrates 10 years

Rhodes Travel Center announced that Gaytane Gardner is celebrating 10 years of employment. She has been the deli manager at the travel center for eight years.
