Broadway Esquire Entertainment Group LLC has named Shad Burner as vice president and director of operations. Burner, who was the director of alumni services at Southeast Missouri State University, will be responsible for overseeing the business operations of the entertainment group. He has a bachelor's degree in mass communication and a master's degree in higher education administration from Southeast. Broadway Esquire Entertainment Group owns the Esquire Theater and has committed to additional businesses in Cape Girardeau, including a 24-hour diner on Broadway and a retro lounge.
Gene Penzel will receive the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, which recognizes pilots who have demonstrated professionalism, skill and aviation expertise by maintaining safe operations for 50 or more years. Recipients are awarded a certificate and a lapel pin and are recognized in the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award -- Roll of Honor located online at FAASafety.gov.
