Gary and Sandy Helwege and Gary and Jane Stanley have acquired 15.5 acres on the 1700 block of N. Kingshighway, next to O'Laughlin Law Firm and World of Honda.
This property was formerly owned by Food Giant Corp. and was platted for a new grocery retail business and pharmaceutical/retail business.
The million-dollar transaction was brokered by Sandy Helwege, a broker with Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty.
The new development, called North Pointe Center - a Destination, will include five outlots on the frontage of North Kingshighway. This property will be subdivided and marketed for sale. The remaining acreage in the rear will include a 66,000-square-foot commercial complex, all which will be for lease.
Owners will also build to suit. The development will include a central focal point fountain, lush landscaping and a themed look to all new constructions.
Two outlots have already been sold. Sandy Helwege said Sonic plans to build a restaurant, and The Creamery, which specializes in premium frozen custard, sundays, milk shakes and waffle cones, will also be a tenant.
Gary and Sandy Helwege are owners of BG's Old Tyme Deli and S and H Construction. Gary and Jane Stanley are owners of Crown Cadillac and Gary Stanley is also a certified public accountant with Stanley, Dirnberger, Hopper and Associates.
