Ruby Tuesday Restaurant will open in Cape Girardeau Oct. 17.
The restaurant will be part of Auburn Park, a commercial retail complex near the intersection of Mount Auburn Road and William Street.
Nathan H. Downing, who previously worked at the Paducah, Ky., Ruby Tuesday, is general manager of the Cape Girardeau restaurant.
Managers include Gary White, previously of a Louisville, Ky., restaurant; Steve Anderson of Paducah; Todd Sowney of Marion, Ill.; and Clayton Ahlfield of Indiana.
The new restaurant will open at 4 p.m. Oct. 17. After day one, the restaurant will open at 11 a.m. daily. It will close at 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, at midnight Friday and Saturday; and 9 p.m. Sunday.
The Ruby Tuesday chain of restaurants is owned by Morrison Restaurants of Mobile, Ala. The restaurant was founded by five college students in 1972 near the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Morrison purchased the chain a decade later after it had grown to a 14-unit group.
The Ruby Tuesday chain now has more than 260 restaurants. The restaurant menu includes a salad bar, soups, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, fajitas and other ethnic specialties.
