Red Letter Communications (RLC) of Cape Girardeau has acquired RV Productions of Cape Girardeau.

Jim Riley, RLC president, announced the acquisition last week.

RLC, a full-service advertising agency, will retain the full staff of RV, a design company specializing in logos and graphics for print, computer media and specialized clothing lines.

Joining Riley for the recent announcement were RV co-founders, Bruce Robert and Jeff Vandeven. Robert will become RLC's new business development director and Vandeven will be the agency's artistic director.

"The move is an important one for Red Letter," said Riley. "The roles which Vandeven and Robert will assume are a direct extension of the work that made their RV Productions partnership such an impressive success story."

RV was founded more than two years ago.

Riley added that Vandeven and Robert bring special expertise in Internet and Web Page design, primary areas Riley has targeted for immediate expansion.

Riley's company will assume ownership of two designer clothing lines developed by RV -- Politically Activewear and StreAmerica River Gear.

"We are now in the merchandise licensing field," said Riley. "We look forward to offering our present an future clients a whole new dimension of marketing services."

Red Letter has operated as a full-service advertising agency and video production house since 1981, expanding from an initial focus on local retailers to include regional and national distributors and manufacturers, including Coad Chevrolet, Stihl Power Equipment and, Spartech Plastics, and Primestar by TIC.
