NEW ON THE BUSINESS SCENE: MANAGED CARE SERVICES

MATRIX Managed Care Organization, a state-certified managed-care organization for workers' compensation, and MedAmerica HealthNet Inc., a regional physician-hospital organization, have announced their affiliation to provide managed care in Southeast Missouri.

MATRIX is a preferred provider organization (PPO), bringing the managed-care approach to on-the-job injuries. Missouri Department of Insurance figures indicate that overall workers' compensation costs have decreased by 15 percent due to the impact of managed-care organizations.
