PIEDMONT -- Kneibert Clinic/Wayne Medical Center and Medical Center Pharmacy opened Jan. 14 at the junction of Canyon Road and Highway 34 near Clearwater High School.
The clinic is 16,000 square feet and situated on a 5-acre tract of land. Medical Center Properties built the complex and have leased the building to Kneibert Clinic. Medical Center Properties is owned by Dr. Richard Gayle, Dr. Andrew Gayle, Julie and Jim Gronski and Dr. David Gayle.
The building was designed by the architectural firm of Villacis Group of St. Louis. Daryl Libla of Greenville was the general contractor.
The new clinic was needed because Wayne Medical Center had outgrown the dated 6,800-square-foot facility. There are three doctors, two nurse practitioners and a support staff of 20 working at Wayne Medical Center. Ophtamologist Dr. Bradley Stuckenschneider also has office hours at the clinic every other week. The pharmacy employs 10 and has one full-time and one part-time pharmacist on staff.
"Our new clinic is totally handicapped accessible," said Julie Gronski.
The building is one-level with a 12,000-square-foot basement. The basement will be used for storage, according to Gronski.
"I think one of the main things people will be interested in is that our new clinic is easier to access," Gronski said. "Everything is on one level. It will enable us to be more efficient."
The clinic features exam rooms for each doctor. It also has an expanded emergency room. The ER, however, is not open 24 hours a day. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
