The Hagan Store -- a new book shop at 437 Broadway in Cape Girardeau -- offers a selection of new and used, hardbook and paperback books.

"We recently bought out a book store inventory," said Hagan, who is retired from law enforcement after more than 30 years. "We added a few books from our own collection and opened the operation here."

The Hagans are no strangers to retail. They operated an antique and collectible shop for more than 25 years in Perry County.

The new business offers a wide selection, from westerns to romance, science fiction, cookbooks and history, including Civil War.

"We also offer book searches for out-of-print books," said Roger Hagan.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
