Home & Pet Guardian has opened in Cape Girardeau.
The new business provides a "pet-sitting" service when the owners travel out of town.
"The owners have the option of leaving pets at home, but not alone," said Kathy Kinder.
Kinder, and Jill Haman are owners of the new business.
"A daily pet diary will be kept, and if owners prefer that the pet not remain at home alone overnight, a sleepover can be arranged," said Kinder.
Other services are offered during pet-sitting -- collecting mail and newspapers, watering plants and miscellaneous household tasks.
Pets such as dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, ferrets and reptiles are included on the list of pets.
The owners have more than 10 years of experience working with pets and are members of the Pet Sitters International.
