NEW BUSINESS ON THE STREET: EDDIE BAUER STORE

The Eddie Bauer Store opened in West Park Mall last week.

Eddie Bauer Inc., which is noted for its rugged outdoor outerwear, also provides casual men's and women's clothing, accessories, footwear and luggage.

The 6,400-square-foot store at 134 West Park Mall is the 16th Eddie Bauer store in Missouri.

Eddie Bauer, which evolved from a single store in Seattle 77 years ago, has grown to an international company with almost 500 stores and more than 120 million catalogs in the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany and the Untied Kingdom. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spiegel Inc.

The company, headquartered in Redmond, Wash., has three stores in the St. Louis area, including operations at Union Station and the Galleria.
