NEW BUSINESS: NEW OWNERS

Mr. Muffler is under new ownership.

Mr. Muffler, a 21-year-old Cape Girardeau business that provides a number of service to vehicle owners, including custom exhaust systems, brake installation, shocks, oil changes and Missouri State Inspections, has been purchased by Bill and Sally LeGrand.

C. Graham Mendenhall, who founded the business at 2605 Gerhardt St. in 1976, retired in June.

"We're keeping the same name," LeGrand said. "We provide the same services, and all guarantees are still in effect."

Mr. Muffler will retain it regular hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 to noon Saturday.

LeGrand is familiar with the operation.

"I've worked here the past 16 years," he said.
