NEW BUSINESS; NEW LAND DEVELOPMENT GROUP OPENS

Mathes & Frey Land Development LLC has opened at 1318 N. Kingshighway.

The development group, which has new equipment, including a couple of dozers and excavators, is owned by Mike Mathes and Tom Frey. The company is involved in an number of activities including land development, building of ponds and lakes, roads, excavation and homes, and is currently in the process of constructing a six-acre lake south of Dutchtown.

During the past six months the company has constructed more than 30 lakes. It has constructed three miles of road, cleared 50 acres of land and cleared and cleaned six miles of ditches.

Mathes and Frey were previously in the auto sales industry. Both have backgrounds in building and development.

Mathes' father was a developer.

"I've been around the business a long time," said Mathes, who has a nine-lot subdivision, Mathes Woods Estates.

Frey also has development experience and equipment.

Cord Bumpus, an employee of the company, has eight years land-development and home-building experience.
