New building brings new opportunity for Cardiovascular Consultants

A recent move to a spacious, newly constructed facility for Cardiovascular Consultants of Cape Girardeau has enhanced the experiences of patients and employees. Cardiovascular Consultants more than doubled its old space when the offices relocated to a 28,000-square-foot building in June. The center, which offers services in echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and research as well as cardiology procedures, was built on the former K's Merchandise lot on the corner of Bloomfield Road and Broadview Street in Cape Girardeau.

Office manager Lois Soellner said the space allows for better patient flow, less waiting time and a better environment for patients and employees. "It's doing what it was supposed to do, in that it is helping us take better care of our patients and be more timely," Soellner said. The location used for the past three years by Cardiovascular Consultants quickly became too small. Soellner said visitors are appreciating the design of the new building with many windows, as well.

"The patients think it's beautiful," she said. Inside the new building are 20 exam rooms, a large waiting area, doctors' offices and an upper level with a lounge, conference room, restrooms and space for medical records. The most complicated part of the move, Soellner said, has been getting people to remember Cardiovascular Consultants has relocated. Staff have been giving out reminders with appointment cards for the past year, she said.
