Silgan Plastics expands at Cape building
Business Today
Nestle Purina Petcare Co. has moved its warehousing and distribution facility from 4780 Nash Road in Cape Girardeau to a new company-owned facility at its Bloomfield manufacturing plant. Locally the company manufactures pet care products including kitty litter.
The international company recently vacated more than 200,000 square feet of warehouse space at the Nash Road building, which is owned by Penzel & Co. Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place Ltd., has been appointed to find a replacement tenant for the vacated space. Kelsey said there is 278,378 square feet in the warehouse complex.
Silgan Plastics Corp. had occupied more than 77,000 square feet in the building and expanded its space size to 108,000 square feet after Nestle vacated.
Kelsey said he will be working with other industrial brokers, local and state industrial recruitment agencies including Mitch Robinson of the Cape Girardeau Area Industrial Recruitment Association, in finding a prospective tenant for the 170,000 square feet of available space.
Kelsey said the property contains many features that industrial clients are looking for in warehousing facilities including multi-docks, good ceiling heights, fire sprinklers and truck parking areas. Its close access to Interstate 55, Semo Port Authority and regional Cape Girardeau airport would also be highlighted in their marketing campaign.
The Lorimont broker also said the warehouse is arranged to accommodate more than one tenant and consideration would be given to leasing smaller sections if needed.
