WILLCUT NAMED BANK PRESIDENT

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Peoples Community Bank Board of Directors announced the appointment of Keith Willcut as bank president. Willcut, a Poplar Bluff native, has served as president and CEO of the Bank of Billings in Billings, Mo., for the past four years. He now reports to the Peoples Community Bank Board of Directors, and his duties include overall bank management. Peoples Community Bank, headquartered in Greenville, Mo., has branches in Piedmont, Puxico, Marble Hill and Wappapello, Mo.

THREE JOIN COLDWELL BANKER

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Cathy Stafford, Shirley Darnell and Patty Wright joined the staff of professional real estate agents at Coldwell Banker Ruth Holloway Realty.

HANNER JOINS AUTRY MORLAN

DEXTER, Mo. --Alan Hanner is the new assistant service manager at Autry Morlan.

NORDENIA HONORS EMPLOYEES

Brad Bowman, multicraft technician of Jackson, was employee of the month for September at NORDENIA USA. He has been with the company since December 1990. NORDENIA also recognizes the following employment anniversaries: David Fultz and Brian Elfrink, 20 years of service; Kevin Lemmons and Dana White, 10 years; and Jonathan Wybert, Derrick Medlock and Susan Moss, five years.

MISSOURIAN, CONCORD CHANGE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

The Southeast Missourian and Concord Printing Services, both divisions of Rust Communications, announced changes in their management structure in early September. Mark Kneer, a longtime "go-to guy" for important projects at the Southeast Missourian, was named general manager of operations for the newspaper. Barry Thornton, a veteran commercial printing salesman and former sales manager, was named manager of Concord Printing Services. Both will report to Jon K. Rust, publisher of the newspaper and co-president of Rust Communications, and Rex Rust, co-president of Rust Communications.

PARK HILLS EMPLOYEES HONORED

PARK HILLS, Mo. -- Park Hills city employees Terri Richardson and Paula Lee were honored by the city for earning Missouri Registered City Clerk certification. Mayor David Easter presented plaques to Richardson and Lee on behalf of the Missouri City Clerk's and Finance Officers Association. The certification process includes a combination of education and experience.

MOORE APPOINTED GENERAL COUNSEL

Kim R. Moore was appointed general counsel of The Bank of Missouri. David Crader, CEO of the bank, said the need for in-house legal counsel became evident as the organization has continued to grow. Moore has assisted the bank for several years.

BURRESS COMPLETES ADVANCED TRAINING

Crystal Burress, Jackson, a financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, completed Kaplan Financial's Introduction to Advanced Markets course. The course teaches agents how to market to small-business owners and professionals in the areas of succession planning, group insurance, executive bonus plans and qualified retirement plans.

CELEBRATING HOME DESIGNERS ATTEND RALLY

Local independent designers with Celebrating Home, a direct selling company offering home decorating and entertaining products, recently attended the company's national rally in Dallas. They include Helen Kinnison and Cora Lee Sample of Cape Girardeau and Becky Riney and Janet Weber of Jackson.

TRAVEL CONSULTANT EARNS PRESTIGIOUS RECOGNITION

For the 14th consecutive year, Carolyn Kempf, owner of Elite Travel Inc. in Cape Girardeau, received the Funjet Vacations 500 Club recognition. Kempf was honored at the Funjet Vacations St. Louis Trade Show for being a top-producing travel agent for Funjet Vacations from July 2009 to July 2010. Kempf competed against Internet companies and all travel agents in the Midwestern states.

GUETHLE JOINS FIRST MIDWEST

DEXTER, Mo. -- Chris Guethle joined First Midwest Bank as assistant vice president and loan officer. He works in the downtown facility at 20 W. Stoddard St., Dexter.

SCHENIMANN JOINS ACS STAFF

Kelli Schenimann, Jackson, joined the American Cancer Society as community manager of income development. She previously completed an internship assisting with fundraising and event planning at the American Cancer Society in Cape Girardeau. Schenimann is now responsible for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in five counties: Madison, Iron, Cape Girardeau, Bollinger and Perry.

Joshua Carter was named banking center manager at Bank of America in Cape Girardeau. Carter previously worked for Bank of America from 2001-2007.

RITE GROUP ENGINEERS RECEIVE CERTIFICATION

The Rite Group's four senior systems engineers -- Owen Sandler, Riley Webb, Shane Kistner and Pat McAtee -- completed training to be certified as master service engineers under SAVIN Corp. They are now qualified to install and support the full range of SAVIN narrow-format black and white and color copiers and printers, as well as SAVIN's wide-format copiers and printers. The Rite Group is SAVIN's only factory-authorized dealer in Southeast Missouri.

DEXTER RESIDENT APPOINTED TO COTTON BOARD

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Allen C. Below, Dexter, Mo., to the Missouri Cotton Growers' Organization Board of Directors. The organization was formed to develop a referendum for boll weevil eradication as described in statute. Since 1994, Below has been part-owner of Stoddard County Cotton Co. He has been the Cotton Incorporated alternate director and a Missouri Cotton Producers member since 2005. The governor has appointed him for a term ending June 26, 2012.

GIRARDOT MEMBERS ATTEND LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP

Seven members of Girardot Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals recently attended the Missouri Division Leadership Workshop in Springfield, Mo. Representing Girardot were Rhonda Zeilinger, Doris Dumey, Sandy Ortiz, Brenda Glastetter, Sherri Jenkins, Debbie McKee and Marie Steinhoff. Attendees heard speakers on the subjects of leadership, passion and purpose and creating personal intelligence. The event also included opportunities to network with other IAAP members and participate in a discussion on the state of the organization.

SWAN APPOINTED TO HIGHER ED BOARD

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Gov. Jay Nixon reappointed Kathryn Swan, Cape Girardeau, to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education. The board is comprised of nine members, one from each congressional district. The board oversees activities of the Missouri Department of Higher Education, which serves as the administrative arm of the board. Swan has served as president of JCS Wireless since 1986 and is a former member of the Cape Girardeau Board of Education. Her term ends June 27, 2016.

MYERS IS ACTIVITY DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dot Myers, activity director at Perry Oaks Nursing & Rehab in Perryville, Mo., was named Activity Director of the Year by the Activity Director Association of Missouri at the organization's annual fall convention. Myers has been with Perry Oaks for 35 years. She was nominated for the award by her co-workers and Perry Oaks administrator Marla Baughman.

PRUDENTIAL RECEIVES J.D. POWER AWARD

Roger Skinner, owner/broker of Prudential Bridgeport Inc., announced that the Prudential Real Estate Network ranked "Highest Overall Satisfaction for Home Sellers among National Full Service Real Estate Firms" in J.D. Power and Associates' 2010 Home Buyer/Seller Study. This marks the second time in three years that the network ranked highest in seller satisfaction. The annual study measures customer satisfaction of home sellers and buyers with major national real estate companies. Prudential Bridgeport Inc. has 20 broker/agents. Their average sales transaction price in 2009 was $198,192, 50 percent higher than average property sales reported to the Cape Girardeau County MLS.

SMITH ATTENDS VETERINARY CONVENTIONS

Dr. Kelly Smith of Sikeston, Mo., a full-time veterinary associate at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital in Cape Girardeau, recently attended two training sessions: the American Heartworm Society's 13th triennial symposium in April in Memphis, Tenn., and the 147th American Veterinary Medicine Association Convention July 31-Aug. 2 in Atlanta.

HICKS ATTENDS EQUINE SEMINAR

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Dr. Catherine Hicks, veterinarian with Hicks Animal Hospital, recently attended a seminar on equine dentistry. Attendees received classroom instruction and performed free dental treatment to 52 of the Missouri Humane Society's Long Meadow Rescue Ranch's sheltered horses. The ranch, located near Union, Mo., provides shelter for abused and abandoned farm animals.

OLDSEN NAMED ASST. PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR FOR DISTRICT

KENNETT, Mo. -- Connie Oldsen, assistant principal for Kennett Middle School, was named the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals' Assistant Principal of the Year for the Southeast District. She was nominated by Ward Billings, principal of Kennett Middle School and the MASSP Southeast District's 2010 Middle School Principal of the Year. The eight Missouri districts will honor their recipients during an Oct. 4 in Columbia, Mo., where one of the eight nominees will be chosen as Missouri Assistant Principal of the Year.

DEXTER, Mo. -- Lucas Haley of Dexter recently passed the Missouri Bar Exam. He is currently employed as an investment adviser and trust representative with the Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau.

BOWMAN IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MONTH

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Lee Bowman of Sikeston, Mo., financial representative with Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, was named Representative of the Month in the Missouri East Region for August 2010.

PORCH JOINS UNITED WAY BOARD

LYNN PROMOTED TO CONTROLLER AT CASINO

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- David Lynn of Kennett, Mo., was promoted to controller for Lady Luck Casino. In his new position, Lynn is responsible for overseeing finance and accounting operations and ensuring compliance with gaming regulations. Lynn has over 25 years of accounting experience and joined Lady Luck in 2008 as a senior staff accountant.

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Nick Nicolini recently welcomed Andrea Midkiff to the staff of Artistic Beauty Salon. Midkiff is a Dexter, Mo., native and currently lives in Poplar Bluff. She worked at the J.C. Penney salon from 2004-2010 and specializes in cuts, color, perms and waxing.
