__Joyce Hill-Cooley, owner:__ For 25 years, our vision has been to promote the best hearing solution possible for anyone in southeast Missouri suffering from hearing loss. We strive to improve their communication and quality of life in any way possible. A lot is accomplished through ongoing team training and by working closely with other area health providers such as home health, hospice, nursing homes, and senior centers. We also reach out to the community by taking hearing education to schools, senior groups and other community support organizations.

__Who in history has most influenced your business philosophy?__

Miracle Ear's founder, Ken Dahlberg, was determined to help those suffering from permanent hearing loss. He developed the first modern hearing aid in 1955, designing it to an in-the-ear style we know today. He was a World War II flying ace shot down over enemy territory three times. He recently passed away, leaving a great legacy as an American and businessman.

__How has technology affected your profession in recent years?__

The onset of Open Ear hearing aid fittings allows amazing natural sound quality, without voice distortion or irritating over-amplification, whistling or feedback. Another great step is Bluetooth wireless connections. Listening to TV, phone, and computers, clearly without elevating room volume and disturbing others. Hearing aids are computers in your ears. With them, and with technical fitting and counseling, we can change lives!
