TROY -- Toyota will double the size of its engine-components plant in this eastern Missouri town, adding about 80 jobs.
Toyota said it will spend $80 million to expand the plant, a branch of its Bodine Aluminum Inc. of St. Louis. The expansion is expected to be finished by spring 1997.
At the same time, Toyota announced plans to spend $150 million to expand its Power Train Plant in Georgetown, Ky., where it will machine the parts being made in Troy. Georgetown will get an additional 50 to 70 jobs.
Bodine's plant in Troy makes engine blocks, cylinder heads and intake manifolds for four-cylinder engines. After the expansion, Bodine will make the same parts for V-6 engines.
The Troy plant opened in 1990. It employs about 115 people.
