Missouri home ownership is 7 percent higher than the national average.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) reported last week that the home ownership rate for Missouri in 2000 was 74 percent. Nationally, home ownership was 67 percent.
During the 1990s, Missouri recorded the third-highest percentage increase in home ownership rates, behind only Colorado and Nevada. During that decade, Missouri moved from 29th to 10th nationally in its rate of home ownership.
