The Cape Girardeau Farmer's Market will open its 16th season Thursday.
The weekly market is held from 3-7 p.m. at 2001 Independence on the Plaza Galleria parking lot.
"We should be seeing a number of items this week," said Marilyn Peters, who serves as market manager.
Some produce available for the first market are spinach, onions, rhubarb, asparagus, greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce.
Also available are baked goods, honey and vegetable and bedding plants.
The products are all produced locally and sold by the growers.
"As the season progresses, there will be a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables on the market," said Peters.
A total of 17 members will eventually have products at the market.
