"Looking 10 years into the future" and "Nutrition and forages for maximum milk production" are primary topics for four dairy profit seminars to be held in Missouri in February.
A local seminar will be held Feb. 8 at the Cape Girardeau County Extension Center in Jackson, Mo.
Bill Mahanna, Pioneer Hi-Bred International of Des Moines, Iowa, will discuss nutrition and forages for maximum milk production at each morning session, and John Smith of Kansas State University will speak on charting your course for the next 10 years in dairy during afternoon sessions.
University Outreach and Extension regional dairy specialists, including Joe Horner of Jackson, will discuss dairy topics of local interest. David Drennan of the Missouri Dairy Association will report on association programs.
Registration fee is $15, which covers the cost of the noon meal and meeting. Reservations can be made at University Outreach and Extension county centers or with Drennan at (636) 519-9300.
Sponsors of the seminars include the Missouri Dairy Association, University Outreach and Extension, Commercial Agriculture, and Pioneer Hi-Bred International.
