The company presented 28 checks totaling $100,000 to winners of its Economic Excellence Awards. Winners were organizations, businesses and government entities that encourage the use of telecommunications as a means of improving economic development in their communities.

More than 100 applications for awards were received. Amounts varied from $1,000 to $10,000.
