The Community Counseling Center, 402 S. Silver Springs Road, will observe its 20th anniversary in November.
An open house will be held Nov. 13, at the center, from 2 to 4 p.m.

A special vendor's conference will be held at Shawnee Community College near Ullin Tuesday.
The conference, presented by the Illinois Department of Corrections, is designed to provide the state with a list of vendors from the region who are interested in providing equipment commodities and service for the new Tamms Work Camp, which will be open next spring.
When the work camp is completed, construction will get under way on the new super maximum prison to be built at Tamms.
The vendors conference will be held Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m.

New Hampshire led the nation's economic growth during the second quarter of 1994, ahead of Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.

KANSAS CITY -- AT&T's consumer long-distance business has received the 1994 Malcolm Baldrige national Quality Award for excellence in quality management. This marks the third time AT&T has received the award.
The Baldrige awards were established in 1987 in memory of the late Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Balldrige.
The 1994 award winners were announced by President Bill Clinton.
MOUNT VERNON, Ill. -- A Mount Vernon tire plant has been named among the country's top 10 manufacturers by a trade magazine.
Industry Week magazine cited the 22-year-old General Tire plant as an example for success for other plants.
Nearly 120 plants across the nation were considered by the magazine's editors.
Industry Week highlighted the plant's suggestion program, called Saving Time and Resources.
The effort has netted more than 11,000 employee suggestions and saved $30 million since it was started nine years ago, the magazine said.
General Tire was the only plant in Illinois to make the fifth annual list.
Westvaco Corp.'s Timberland Division, Wickliffe, Ky., has been recognized for its Westvaco Wildlife Management Area (WMA), in Carlisle and Hickman counties, along the Mississippi River.
The area, about 62,000 acres, is eight miles south of the company's fine papers mill at Wickliffe.
Officials from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Ducks Unlimited and Westvaco gathered at the project site recently for dedication of the "MARSH" project.
MARSH is an acronym for "Matching Aid to Restore States Habitat."
The program is sponsored by Ducks Unlimited to develop habitat for waterfowl. DU has matched Westvaco funding on a 50-50 basis for specific waterfowl projects on the Town Creek Moist-Soil Unit of the Westvaco Waterfowl Management Area.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Cape Girardeau has been recognized for service.
The company recently received the 1994 Outstanding Large Agency Award at the National Foundation for Consumer Credit Conference, held in Chicago.
CCCS of Cape Girardeau was one of 220 CCCS agencies nominated for the award. CCCS, headquartered in St. Louis, also received citations in the categories of innovative education, community relations and creditor relations.
Capital Bancorporation's net income for the three months ended Sept. 30 was $1,457,000 while earnings per common and common equivalent share were 36 cents. This compares to $1,892,000, or 50 cents, per common and common equivalent share during the same quarter in 1993. Total assets exceeded $941 million on Sept. 30.
Results for the quarter include one-time charges pertaining to the acquisition of the Bank of South County, with an after-tax effect of $495,000, or 16 cents per share.
Non-performing loans at Sept. 30, $3,291,000. The allowance for possible loan losses was $11,618,000, representing 353 percent of non-performing loans and 1.57 percent of total loans.
On Oct. 17, Capital Bancorporation Inc. directors declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 18 cents a share on its common stock, payable Nov. 3, to shareholders of record Oct. 27.
Directors also declared its quarterly cash dividend with respect to the preferred stock (depositary shares), payable Dec. 1, to holders of record Nov. 23.

Total assets as of Sept. 30 were $12.2 billion.
Mercantile Bancorporation Inc., headquartered in St. Louis, owns 41 financial institutions in Missouri -- including Cape Girardeau -- Eastern Kansas, Southern Illinois and Northern Iowa.
