Program on legislature, other issues planned
Associated Industries of Missouri will conduct a "Legislative Boot Camp" on Feb. 11 in Cape Girardeau for businesses to learn about the top issues facing the Missouri Legislature in 2008. The program will include information on communicating with lawmakers and the effect of election year politics on the outcomes. At the same time, AIM will be offering two days of seminars on issues ranging from illegal immigration to workers' compensation. For more information on attending, contact AIM at 573-634-2246.
Business development class offered by center
The Small Business Development Center of the University of Missouri Extension Service will offer a class entitled "Knowing the Competition" at 9 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Cape Girardeau County Extension Center, 684 W. Jackson Trail in Jackson. The course will provide insight into sizing up competitors and help to build on a business's strengths. Registration is limited to 30 participants.
