Southeast to offer small business sessions
The Southeast Missouri State University Small Business Development Center is offering counseling sessions for small businesses in three area cities this week. From 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Counselor Gil Degenhardt will be at the Sikeston Chamber of Commerce in Sikeston, Mo. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday he will be at the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission offices in Perryville, Mo., and from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday he will be at the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce offices, 1267 N. Mount Auburn Road. For information on the Sikeston sessions, call 573-471-2498. For the Perryville sessions, call 573-547-8357 and for the Cape Girardeau sessions call 573-335-3312. All sessions are by appointment only.
Two ribbon cuttings to be held in Jackson
There will be two ribbon cuttings in Jackson this week for businesses that are new or have moved. At 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Jackson Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting for Fruitland Hardware, which is moving to 5943 U.S. 61 North. At 2 p.m. Friday, there will be a ribbon cutting for China John's Buffet, 1815 E. Jackson Blvd.
Workshops for small businesses offered
The Small Business Development Center of the University of Missouri Extension service will be offering workshops for businesses in March. A class on starting a new small business will be conducted at 6 p.m. March 3 at the extension office in Perryville, Mo. A class on writing a business plan will be held at 6 p.m. March 6 at the extension office at 684 W. Jackson Trail in Jackson. To register for either class, call the extension office in Jackson at 573-243-3581.
