Four ribbon cuttings held this week

• The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce will hold three ribbon cuttings this week for new businesses. The ceremony for Jimmi's Restaurant and Bar will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the restaurant at 2406 William St. Title Max, 204 N. Kingshighway, will hold its ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and the ribbon cutting for Advance Auto Parts, 257 N. Kingshighway, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday.
• The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for the new Wood & Huston Bank location at 8:30 a.m. Friday at 2999 E. Jackson Blvd.

How to keep the talent in businesses

• The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct a class on retaining talent as part of the Chamber Business Institute. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 6. There is a cost. The class will focus on how to keep key players regardless of whether they are satisfied with their jobs or considering moving to a new company. • The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Breakfast and Small Business Alliance at 7:30 a.m. Friday. The program, titled "Recruiting & Retaining Good Employees," will be presented by Scott Sattler of the Workforce Investment Board. The meeting will be at Main Street Lanes in Jackson.
