  • The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for the new Wood & Huston Bank location at 8:30 a.m. Friday at 2999 E. Jackson Blvd.

How to keep the talent in businesses

  • The Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce will conduct a class on retaining talent as part of the Chamber Business Institute. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 6. There is a cost. The class will focus on how to keep key players regardless of whether they are satisfied with their jobs or considering moving to a new company.   • The Jackson Chamber of Commerce will host a Business Breakfast and Small Business Alliance at 7:30 a.m. Friday. The program, titled "Recruiting & Retaining Good Employees," will be presented by Scott Sattler of the Workforce Investment Board. The meeting will be at Main Street Lanes in Jackson.
