BONNE TERRE - The City Council recently contracted with Loana Contractors Inc. for construction of sewer mains, and the council accepted bids from Water Works Specialties for water-related materials for the city's 100-acre industrial park.
Work on the sewer mains began several weeks ago.
There is about $20,000 left over from federal funds secured by Sen. Kit Bond for the improvement project. City Manager Larry Hughes said he believes the city will have enough money to extend the road in the industrial park.
The funding was obtained to construct 5,000 feet of 10-inch water main and 3,000 feet of sewer line to serve businesses in the park. Plans also include initial construction of a road there.
Water Works Specialties built a new facility in the industrial park earlier this year.
Another business, GWS Contractors, will soon begin construction on its building.
