__DERMATOLOGIST GETS ADVANCED TRAINING__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Dr. Lance Yeoman and nurse practitioner Joyce Barklow of The Dermatology Office traveled to San Francisco for Sciton laser technology training with two of the industry's leading physicians: Dr. Patrick Bitter and Dr. Robert Aycock. Yeoman and his medical partner, Dr. Phil Rettenmaier, also attended the Arkansas Dermatological Society's annual meeting, where they received further training in aesthetic dermatology.

__RICHARDET JOINS PERRY OAKS STAFF__

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Terry Richardet was named director of nursing at Perry Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, effective March 28. He has eight years of experience as an RN in hospitals all over the country.

__SHINE MEDICAL AESTHETICS HOLDS GRAND OPENING__

Dr. Charles Moon, dermatologist and owner of Advanced Dermatology of Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, held a grand opening May 17 at 465 S. Mount Auburn Road for Shine Medical Aesthetics, the first local medically owned skin care clinic. Shine offers "innovative cosmetic products, aesthetician services and cosmetic procedures including facials, medical strength chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, various laser treatments for anti-aging, Botox, fillers and more," according to a news release.

__FUGARO JOINS LANDMARK HOSPITAL__

Dr. Joseph M. Fugaro joined the team at Landmark Hospital of Cape Girardeau, specializing in the care of Landmark's long-term acute care patients. He previously served on the medical staff at Landmark Hospital of Columbia, Mo., for the last two years.

__RESPIRATORY CARE PROGRAM EARNS NATIONAL RECOGNITION__

Saint Francis Medical Center earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) under a national program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals. About 700 hospitals, or approximately 15 percent of hospitals in the United States, applied for and received this award. Saint Francis has been a consecutive recipient of this award since 2004. The American Association for Respiratory Care created the QRCR program in 2003 to help customers identify facilities using qualified respiratory therapists to provide respiratory care. Hospitals earning the QRCR designation ensure patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services. __SAINT FRANCIS ADDS HEART SURGEON TO STAFF__

Saint Francis Medical Center added Dr. Colleen Johnson Moore as a medical partner and the newest vascular surgeon at Cape Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery. Moore, a Cape Girardeau native, is board certified in both general and vascular surgery. She previously worked for seven years at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of surgery and director of The Vein Clinic. During that time, she also served as director of the noninvasive vascular laboratory at St. John's Hospital.

__SOUTHEAST NAMES CEO IN STODDARD COUNTY__

DEXTER, Mo. -- Adam Bracks was named CEO at SoutheastHEALTH Center of Stoddard County, effective May 8, the Dexter Daily Statesman reported. A native of Perth, Australia, Bracks most recently served in a hospital setting in Cleveland, Tenn., where he oversaw rehabilitation, physician practice management and occupational medicine, and focused on process improvement for the hospital. As announced when the acquisition with SoutheastHEALTH became a reality early in the year, an expansion project is on the horizon. "We will be building a medical office building on-site. We're studying construction plans at this time for this expansion," Bracks confirmed.

__WHITE JOINS POPLAR BLUFF HOSPITAL__

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Dr. Laura White joined Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center as a pediatric hospitalist.

Geoff Enders joined Select Physical Therapy in Jackson as a physical therapist. Enders, a Jackson native and 2012 graduate of Maryville University, can handle treatment of neck pain, rotator cuff conditions, sacroiliac joint (SI joint) dysfunction, knee pain and ankle/foot conditions.

__LEWIS NAMED TO CARDIOVASCULAR CONSULTANTS POST__

Jeffie Lewis joined Cardiovascular Consultants in Cape Girardeau as its new administrator. She most recently served as director of operations, specialty services, with Lourdes Hospital/Mercy Medical Associates. Her experience also includes physician practice management with Southern Illinois Healthcare in Carbondale, Ill., and Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation in Sauget, Ill.

__CAPE PHARMACY FEATURED IN NATIONWIDE MAGAZINE__

Broadway Prescription Shop of Cape Girardeau was featured on the cover of America's Pharmacist magazine, a publication distributed to more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies nationwide. Some of the technological improvements mentioned include upgrading the pharmacy's computer and point-of-sale systems and adding a robot to fill bottles. Recently, the pharmacy enhanced its online refill capabilities and launched a refill application that may be used on customers' smartphones. The article also credits the pharmacy's original owner, Homer George, for establishing National Poison Prevention Week more than 50 years ago.

__BOWEN EARNS TOP DOCTOR HONORS__

Dr. Jimmy D. Bowen of Advanced Orthopedic Specialists in Cape Girardeau received HealthTap's Top Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist in the U.S. award. He was recognized for his expertise, excellence and patient care.

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- The Caruthersville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at the grand opening for Genesis Home Care, 311 Truman Blvd.

Dr. Dan Bieser and Sandy Buchheit, a family nurse practitioner, opened Cape Family Care at 2907 Keystone Drive in Cape Girardeau.
