EYE CARE Specialists is a state-of-the-art practice that initiated the multi-specialty ophthalmology focus in Southeast Missouri.  In 1989, Dr. David Westrich, M.D. founded a practice specializing in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. The practice grew from a one M.D. office to a group of fellowship-trained ophthalmologists collaborating in the area of complex ophthalmologic conditions. Services include: Retinal (David J. Westrich, M.D, and Eric S. Mann, M.D., Ph.D.), Corneal, LASIK, Glaucoma (D. Shawn Parker, M.D.), Pediatric Ophthalmology (Linn M. Mangano, M.D.), General Ophthalmology (in Poplar Bluff with Dr. Brad Stuckenschneider, M.D.), and Low-vision (Michael J. Katich, O.D.).
This past year, EYE CARE Specialists welcomed Linn M. Mangano, M.D. to the practice for the provision of comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology, strabismus surgery, and adult eye muscle surgery. Subsequent to her medical school training and internship, Linn Mangano, M.D. completed a one-year neuro-ophthalmology residency at West Virginia University where she also pursued her ophthalmology residency. Dr. Mangano then pursued an additional fourth year of subspecialty training in pediatrics and strabismus, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplastics at West Virginia University.
Linn Mangano, M.D. served as Managing Partner of Northeast Ophthalmology, PC (a private, general ophthalmology practice) in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 1996 thru 2005, before completing her pediatric ophthalmology fellowships at Duke University and Indiana University. She then functioned as an Assistant Professor in general and pediatric ophthalmology at West Virginia University Eye Institute.
Immediately prior to joining EYE CARE Specialists, Linn Mangano, M.D. practiced as a pediatric ophthalmologist with Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Associates in Providence, Rhode Island where she also served as Clinical Instructor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Division of Ophthalmology. EYE CARE Specialists 4KIDS was established to host her practice and provide special attention to our youngest patients!
EYE CARE Specialists is progressive in being high-tech, while preserving a service-oriented focus in "caring for the needs of the special eyes" of its patients. The main office of EYE CARE Specialists resides in Cape but with satellite locations in three states (Missouri, Illinois, and Kentucky), the specialized practice serves a wide patient base in the tri-state area.
