Edgewater Glass Co. has been a full-line glass and glazing company for 49 years. Jay Bond had worked there for 26 years before buying the business. He's watched the industry change firsthand.

"As some trends come and go, we have had to adapt," he says. "If you don't adapt, you won't succeed."

Edgewater does auto glass, commercial buildings, residential sites, showers and even tinting. They have done glass work everywhere from hospitals to the local university, and Bond says staying relevant in a changing industry requires proactive measures.

"You have to keep your eyes open for new projects and ideas," he says. "But at the same time, some of the old rules still apply. We still treat our customers right and shake their hand when we do business."

To Bond, a business is an evolving process. You try new things and see if they work out. He sees it as the only way to keep a business going: evolve.
