Cape Girardeau Urology Associates introduced quality urological care to Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois in the late 1940s. The practice carries on the tradition of quality care today, being the largest single specialty group of urologists in the five-state area.
Cape Girardeau Urology Associates (CGUA) features six full-time urologists who have a combined experience of over 75 years. The physicians are knowledgeable on all aspects of male and female urologic disorders, with special interest in kidney stones, urological cancers, erectile dysfunction, pediatric urology, prostate disease, infections, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery.
The group takes a multidisciplinary approach to combine medicines, therapies, and expertise across disciplines for the best treatment tailored to each patient.
Da Vinci Prostatectomy is the No. 1 choice for treatment of localized prostate cancer in the United States. This minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedure is rapidly being chosen by more patients and doctors, and two of CGUA's physicians are listed on the da Vinci Prostratectomy national website. Dr. Gregg S. Hallman was the third physician in Missouri to be added and Dr. J. Russell Felker was the eighth.
Along with Dr. Donald Gentle, Dr. Vince Galati, Dr. John Hall and Dr. James Outman, all the physicians are certified by the American Board of Urology. They are also fellows of the American College of Surgeons and affiliated with the MC Anderson Network.
Services are delivered in the office at 3 Doctor' Park, as well as Doctors' Park Surgery, Saint Francis Medical Center, Southeast Hospital and the outreach clinic at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
CGUA is a participating provider with Medicare, Missouri Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Healthlink PPO, Champus, United Healthcare, Coventry and Three Rivers Provider Network. At the present time they accept Medicaid patients in the Missouri and Illinois plans.
