Cape Electrical Supply expands to Mayfield

Cape Electrical Supply Co. of Cape Girardeau has purchased Pickens Supply Co. in Mayfield, Ky. The new location will become Southfork Electrical Supply of Mayfield.

Cape Electrical already operates Southfork locations in Paducah and Murray, Ky., as part of its 15-store regional network.

Pickens Supply was founded in Mayfield in 1961. The company established PSI, an industrial control panel business, in 1987. Cape Electrical is acquiring the traditional electrical supply business while PSI retains its current ownership operation of facilities in Mayfield and Charlotte, N.C.

"We're excited to add a well-established location like Pickens Supply to our presence in West Kentucky," said Cape Electrical president Allen Toole.

Joe Hobbs, Pickens vice president, will join Cape Electric and manage the Southfork location at Mayfield. Other veteran Pickens employees, Trey Nall and John Latham, will also join Southfork as sales representatives.

Cape Electrical Supply, which was founded in Cape Girardeau in 1953, operates 15 stores in four states. The company employs more than 125 people.
