Fourteen drivers for Genesis Transportation Company Inc. of Cape Girardeau received safe driving awards from the American Trucking Association and Great West Casualty Company during the Genesis Company's annual Safety Meeting and Awards Banquet.
The drivers represented more than 3 million miles of accident-free driving.
22-year award: Harold Lindsay of Dexter.
21-year award: Vernon Davis of Anna, Ill.
14-year awards: Otis Johnson of Parma and Henry Winters of Cape Girardeau.
12-year award: John Crockett of Chaffee.
11-year award: Bob Mathis of McClure.
10-year award: Virgil Null of Cape Girardeau.
Nine-year award: Gary Petzoldt of Jackson.
Eight-year award: Steve Haggard of Marble Hill.
Six-year awards: Terry Campbell of Anna and Jim Pate of Scott City.
Two-year award: Gene Maevers of Cape Girardeau.
One-year awards: Mike Black of Benton and David Farrow of Jackson.
Safe worker awards were also presented to Genesis shop personnel. George Green of Advance, Martin Van Gennip of Cape Girardeau and Tom Wright of Jackson each received eight-year awards.
